GRINNERS CATERING - AUSTRALIA
Hello again. There is no doubt about it ... Australians love to party and entertain. In fact, this has meant that 1999 was another great year for GRiNNERS Catering.
One of the main reasons for our continued growth has been a dramatic increase in private and corporate functions. As you know, hundreds of people are taking advantage of GRiNNERS Catering's ability to provide quality food and service at a price that leaves a smile on their face. "We guarantee to serve so much food that even the heartiest appetites are satisfied."
We are grateful to the many customers who completed our customer survey forms. These responses have helped us in determining what our customers want, and we have made a few changes along the way.
We would also like to express our appreciation to all who have recommended our catering. We receive many calls from people after your parties.
Congratulations to Mr Paul Eather of Matraville in Sydney who was our 7 millionth customer. Mr Eather had booked a function with GRiNNERS Eastern Suburbs caterer Steve Kelly for June and was jumping for joy when he was told it would be for free for being our seventh millionth customer.
Recognition of any sort is always pleasing, but an award from our professional peers is very special. It's an important professional endorsement for the outstanding value that GRiNNERS offers for functions of all types, in all locations.
To be in the running for this award, we first lodged a submission that was selected as a finalist by a judging panel of industry experts. Next, a judge with extensive professional experience visited our premises for a thorough inspection. Not only did this include a close examination of our kitchen operations and procedures, but also our day-to-day systems, such as how we handle and follow up your enquiries, prepare quotations and document your requirements.
The final step was attendance by a judge at one of our functions to review every aspect of the quality of service and food that we provide
According to Terry Bright, the Executive Director of the Restaurant and Catering Industry Association of WA, GRiNNERS' success "was an outstanding achievement and a highlight of the awards night", due in no small part to our ability to offer outstanding quality and value at a sensible price.
Naturally, we won't be too shy about telling our customers about our success
- after all, it's a great way to celebrate our tenth year providing outstanding
catering value! There might be plenty of caterers in Perth, but how
many do you know that have Gold Licence status, as well as having received the
catering industry's highest recognition?
The following is a list of our awards and recognition, in Perth, over the years:

GRiNNERS won Caterer of the Year for
the 2nd time in 1999 when Newcastle franchise owners Peter and Kathy Beith
won the Restaurant and Catering Association Hunter Valley Off Premises
Caterer of the Year award in July.
Earlier this year GRiNNERS Wyong caterers
Jim and Sharon Tieman cleaned up the same award for the Central Coast area.
Both couples are wonderful ambassadors for GRiNNERS with their excellent attention to detail and high standard of service. Their success is very well deserved.
For the forth year running, GRiNNERS was a finalist at the 2000 Excellence in Catering Awards hosted by the Restaurant and Catering Industry Association of Western Australia.
What do you do when you have 2100 staff members turning up for a company picnic? Recently Australia Post had this problem in Perth. Their solution was to call in GRiNNERS Catering to feed the guests. Result: This mammoth function went like clockwork and Australia Post claim it was their most successful ever.
When serving wine at your next function, consider the following: "Wine 'breathes' best when it is poured into a wine glass and allowed to sit, because a glass has a larger area than the neck of a bottle, and this allows more oxygen to come into contact with the wine.
*Sparkling wine (Champagne) should be served in a tall glass with sloping sides, as the bubbles escape too quickly in a saucer-shaped glass.
*The original saucer-shaped wine glass was allegedly modelled on Marie Antoinette's breasts. This 'fact' makes a good conversation starter at a party.
*Incidentally, the quality of sparkling wines is largely determined by the size and persistency of the bubbles - the finer the bubbles the better the wine.
*Creamy pasta dishes are best accompanied by unwooded dry whites. Tomato and meat dishes go better with heavier reds. IF IN DOUBT, JUST HAVE A BEER!
Here is an exercise tip that will undo all that dietary damage! Exercise should be taken in moderation. This is a good one for reducing the hips:
Stand erect with the hands on the top of the head, and
slowly raise the left leg to the level of the shoulders.
Keep it there for five or ten minutes, then gently lower to the ground. Do this ten times with the left leg and then ten times with the right leg.
Then do it with both legs at once. You will actually feel the difference in your hips, almost immediately.
